I plan on having a section in my sump for some plants to aid in filtration. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to what plants would be good for this application. Thanks in advance.

Some of the things I hear mostly is Cheato, and Caulerpa. These are actually a form of macro algae. You will see people using mango trees as well.

I use grape calerpa but it needs to be pruned often and I run my fuge lights 24/7 to minimize it going sexual and turning the water white. I think cheato is more safer but IMO is not as good as a nutrient exporter as Calerpa.

Wouldn't it be cool if we could grow mangos? A very observant person pointed out that I should have said Mangrove trees!:oops:

Lol @ Mango trees. Ok so I could go with Mangroves or Cheato as a safer bet. Thanks guys.

Caulerpa is what most sump users in my area are using. Mangroves are a little more needy. (IMHO) - In my honest opinion
