Says on bag do not use for aquariums

Is this the right sand?
I have never read any thing on the site about Kolor Scape
Maybe thats a new name for the same old sand

well, white play sand sounds promising. all bags of old castle say 'don't use in the aquarium'

how much did it cost? 50lb bag?

silica based playsand is usually under $5 per 50lb bag. The good stuff (aragonite sand) is usually a little over $10, and is also a little coarser grain than silica sand.

Not true. The good stuff found in the garden center of HD is about $5.00 per 40 pound bag.

Does the bag say tropical playsand? If so it's aragonite. If not, you need to try the vinegar test on a small sample. Bring along a small vial of white vinegar, drop some sand into the vial and look for a reaction and the dissolution of part of of the sand. If it fizzles and partly disolves then you have the good stuff.
