Polluted water

I just set up a 72 tank aquarium. I put some live rock, sand and water. Here in Puerto Rico we were with out light power for three consecutive days, because of a tropical storm. The water is now yellowish and the protein skimmer is not making bobbles in the waste collection cup. I will like to know if the water is polluted or is it ok?

If it is not safe to drink it is definetely not safe for your tank. I would put some GAC in the water flow to remove the coloration and other potential pollutants. Hold off on water changes until the water improves. You may want to invest in RO/DI if this happens alot. Good luck.
