A it ok to turn my power head off at lights out, I feel I'm overpowering my nano 12g. I have a fluval 250 external and this makes a fair circulation

I turn my wavemakers and protein skimmer off every night ! The ocean is calmer at night and switching the skimmer off gives corals a chance to feed from the water column !
