Do you have any reccomendations on keeping everything alive in a fresh and salt water tank??

A small generator works best

Car battery & inverter can run basic life support for quite a long time.....

+1 in the battery and inverter. I only run a small circulation pump and a heater to minimize the load. If it gets cold you could wrap towels or blankets around your tank to conserve heat.

Okay and are there any other options if I don't have a batter source and how long can a tank go without any filters running

As long as you keep the water agitated which you can do by simply using a wooden spoon say every hour or so you would be ok for a few days
