powerhead inside overflow box?

when using a durso standpipe.... does anyone put a powehead inside the overflow box to keep the debris suspended so it gets a chance to get sucked in instead of settling at the bottom of the overflow

This happens to me but wasnt sure what to do about this.. I was thinking this could b one reason my phos went up...
