So my 2 powerheads came in the mail today. They are 1300 gph china cheapo's made by SunSun (ebay for $20 a pop). my tank is a 55g. I was wondering what is the best way to position these in my tank? as for corals I only have 2 small frags. I want the powerheads positioned so that there is no dead flowing areas. So again what are the best positions to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

The best kind of flow is chaotic flow. Having the PH`s pointing at each other and pointing slightly up for good surface aggitation.

Agreed with Mike, I'm not sure if 2 will be enough to completely eliminate dead spots, but the less predictable your flow, the less dead spots there will be. There are some simple addons and DIY solutions to have a variable flow on your pumps as well.

I'd definitely try my best to place them to get chaotic flow if possible with those powerheads. At that price I'm sure the flow is very laminar
