Puffer fish's teeth too big

I have a dog faced puffer who's teeth have grown very long and I fear they are preventing him from eating as he has a large overbite. I have put a live clam in the tank with him but he is not interested. Any suggestions on how I can get his teeth down?

Don't be so open-minded that your brains fall out.

Saw a site on the one time (trying to find it as I am writing this) that displayed a lady that sedates the puffer and uses a dremel tool to grind down the teeth and then the puffer has new teeth.... This I understand is the only way to get the teeth back to normal once they have gotten that far...I do know that even a a very small size, they should be offered clams and other mollusks and what not so that the teeth can be ground down naturally. This is not completely proven to be totally effective though. I believe to remedy the situation, you will probably have to seek out the help of a professional..
