puffer has ich i think

The porcupine I recently got looks like it has a few white spots on its tail and a couple on its body. I have been hearing a couple of different ways of treating ich and i just want to hear some of your best ideas. Can ich go away by itself??? and how deadly is it??? any response will help thanks

the tank also has a bunch of white spots stuck to the glass, what could it possibly be???

Make sure it's not just air bubbles. I thougt my puffer had ick until I realized every time he swaw over my bubbler a few sould stick to him. Ick if very deadly if not treated. I'm finding out that the only way to get rid of it is with copper and/or to have your main tank fishless for 4 weeks.
