I have a small group of purple tunicates growing on the back wall of my tank. How did they get there. I have have had purple and pinks of this same type before and are now gone. Were there some dormant spores or something in the tank and they are now coming to life. Not quite sure how tunicates breed in the first place.

I believe tunicates go through a larval stage during which they are able to move about.
