Purple Up??????

If keep your CA above 400 and do regular water changes, you won't need to add MAG or Purple Up or anything else for coraline to grow. You could seed your tank with some purple coraline scrape-ings from a friend or the LFS. This will help it grow if you don't have any right now.
Coraline also comes in different colors depending on your lighting and water params.

Here is mine with 91watts PC and 440 CA

purple up does speed up the process but smo is right i have seen my corriline spead in the few months that i have had mine set up for
 
I've seen purple up (or something like it) and it seemed unnatural....like it was a calcium/alk paste with purple dye in it.
no thanks.
 
I am having a heck of a time keeping the algea I have alive. could hair algea, Xenia , mushroom corals, and other stuff be sucking the tank dry of nutrients and causing this problem?
