Purple up???

Anyone use purple up? Recommend it, or no? Are there side effects that I should look for? My tank has been up now for 7 months, and I have minimal if any coraline growth. Just about the only coraline I have is what came on my rock. Any other tips would be great. Thanks!!!

Check your calcium levels as well as your alk and let us know what they are... Coraline algae is calcium dependent (for the most part), but you need to have seed to start (such as your LR).

Do you have a source for coraline in the tank? You can actually order coraline to seed your tank with. this may help speed things up.

phosphates have a tendency to retard the growth calcium dependent beings.
so make sure your phosphates are down.
