putting an undergravel filter on a sw tank

is it a good idea to put a undergravel filter in a sw tank?

I wouldn't do it. I have heard nightmares that it is a breeding ground for detrius. I would just use substrate and some powerheads.

I also agree that it is a bad idea. The common idea seems to be a DSB combined with LR for filtration with ample PH's and perhaps a protein skimmer.
