I have a QT tank but was wondering if I have to QT snails. Also, my LFS keeps the salinity at 1.017 for their fish and I have never seen ick on them, and they said its to keep the ick away. Do I have to QT fish from the 1.017 waters? Also, if i bought corals, would I have to QT them?

Do not buy a fish unless the qt is setup. The best way to keep one readily available is to throw a filter sponge in the sump and use that as you buy the fish. You never know what is lurking in a lfs tank.

And 1.017 is not low enough to kill crypto(marine ich) 1.008-1.010 is preferable.

Inverts do not need to be qt'd.

Corals don't need to be qt either. You can however do a coral dip on them to make sure you don't get any hitchikers that are unwanted.
