I use to not do it till I saw Steve-s say the other day that anything wet should be QT. That`s good enough for me. I know that`s not scientific but his advice has never let me down before.

Anything with a hard surface has the potential to carry in fish parasites but they are not your only concern. Any invertebrate (motile/mobile) can carry in any number of parasites related to fish,corals crustaceans and so on. Only by Qting them will you be assured not to infest the main display with something that could be easily treated otherwise.

Given the life cycle of many parasites can be quite a long process, the longer the QT duration the better but Brendens recommendation is generally good.
