I know in freshwater if something dies you need to remove it quick. Is saltwater the same way....not talkin about fish. I have seen a little crab that is dead that came off the liverock. I have also noticed this white cobweb looking stuff on some of the rock, not sure what that is.

If it dies and you can get it you need to get it out. It will cause an ammonia spike.

If you can get to it remove it. I have a 32 gallon hex with lr and often can't readily get to a dead hermit crab, but I have never had an ammonia spike because of it. So don't worry too much about not being able to get at it.

If it can be reached, I remove it. SW has so many critters to take care of it, in the sand and on the rocks, normally the dead isn't around to long.
