im currently running a 8x2.5x2.5 reef tank off a 6ft mini reef. i need to light this tank for corals and one large anenome. the light has to penetrate 10mm glass and a depth of 2.5foot of water. what type of lighting do you suggest? i was going to buy a metal haloide system which has 4 x 150watt and ballists internally is this ok or is there a better alternative?

i don't know alot about this, but for 2.5 feet of water penetration, you're going to want a MH (to keep the anemone).

Your going to need at least 250 watt mh's IMO 12,000k and 4 of them, add a some supplamental light such as actinic and presto. I's do a do a retro kit, much cheaper.
