I had a question, I bout a live rock about a week ago. I am "curing" it at the moment in a large tub. How do I know when the live rock is ready? Also is there a way to speed up the process I hear that it can take 2-3 evey 4 weekd to cure is this right?

That sounds about right. If I remember correctly you need to test the water and there should be no ammonia or nitrite in the water. So all the die off from the rock needs to cycle through

Like he said no Amon no trites. Leave same water in, no lights, and protein skimmer if you have one. Once levels of Amon and trites are down I do 100% water change wait day or so check params again if good throw in the tank finally..
