I am looking into making a quick disconnect for my coralvue metal halide ballast. I was thinking of using molex connectors like a computer power supply but thought that the wire wouldn't be big enough. I have seen metal halide ballasts with quick disconnects and want to incorporate this into my system. On my ballast I have input and output wires that connect to power cables and what not. Is there any way that I can take a regular extension cord and make a quick disconnect feature out of that?

Thanks,
Josh

If you have a regular 110V plug as a disconnect betwen the ballast and the MH bulp and you plug something else than the Bulp into that outlet it will blow up.
The MH Bulps dont run on 110V thats why you have a Ballast betwen the 110V outlet and the bulp. By the way the balsat might burn up too if you plug something else than the MH bulp into that outlet.
