QUICK - External Pump Recommendations

I am replacing my piece of junk Mag-Drive 36 stat!

Anyone want to recommend a pump. I'm thinking maybe the Dolphin 4000 since I am at about 15' of head.

QUICK!

AGA's Megaflow overflows are rated at 600gph.

This would be 10 gal/minute.

Checking the Dolphin line for 10 gpm and 14' (I measured) of head I come up with Dolphin 3000. Although my Mag Drive 36 was supposed to do 1400 GPH and never overflowed, so I'm guessing the elbows, reduced PVC size (3/4" since that's what the overflow is drilled at) and long runs are reducing it greatly, so I'll probably go with a Dolphin 4000.

The charts I used are HERE

I looked at those, but I don't think I would get the flow rate I would want at 14', I think it would probably run less than 200gph.

While the Iwaki 100 or the Blueline 100, both having a max head of around 40', would probably do the job, I think my vote would be for the Dolphin. The Dolphin draws about 170 watts while the other two are pulling nearly 400...big difference. The drawback to the Dolphin is its direct drive system which adds both a seal and more heat transfer into the equation. I expect that the heat transfer might be close to the same due to the higher amp draw of the other two pumps though. My guess is the Dolphin would be quieter as well. JMHO.
