Quiet Protein Skimmers

I'm setting up a 30g Marine tank and looking to buy a Protein Skimmer. Are skimmers very noisy? Can anyone recommend a quiet one? I was thinking of getting a hang-on type.

If it in-sump the euroreefs are as quiet as you can get. As far as hang on skimmers they are all pretty loud. The red sea skimmers are really loud and the Bak Pak and remora skimmers are pretty quiet.

I use the EV series (in sump) from aquac and it can only be heard if i have my ear to the glass of the sump. I highly recommend that particular line of skimmers. The EV-120 is rated for tanks from 40 - 150 gallons so that might be overkill for you.

I find the Turbo Floater Multi quiet.
