Randalls goby

I was wondering if I should get a pistol shrimp for my goby. I heard they can be aggressive. I want to turn this tank into a reef soon so is it a good idea or bad idea?

Yes but don't get a red or cherry pistol shrimp. I have one and I'm pretty sure he's been nipping at my fish when they are sleeping, plus he's huge, at least 3" maybe slightly bigger.

A tiger pistol seems to be the most popular. I have one in one of my tanks and a red dot pistil shrimp in the other. I put the cherry pistol shrimp in with my bigger fish and it seems to have put him in his place.

I have four pistols in my reef, two randals (candy cane), a green pistol, and a bullseye. I haven't had any problem with any of them except the bullseye is a loud bugger, & big!
