really dumb metal halide question

i just received my MH mogul set-up from hellolights. the part you screw the light bulb is almost 2 inches. is that the normal size of a MH bulb? or do i require a special bulb.

When I first got my Mogul and ballast from HelloLights.com I thought the same thing, but the metal halide bulbs are really big so when you put the two together you will see.

BTW, yes you need a special bulb, so I would not try any other type of bulbs because you could have serious problems from using the wrong bulb in a system like that one. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

They must have the same sized mogul base, most sold for aquarium use have a med mugul base, if you buy a MH bulb from a aquatic retailer, yes it will fit
