Blindskate,

Where did you hear that the Koralia's add oxygen to your tank?
If it pointed to the surface to cause it to ripple it will help with the gas exchange in a tank, but so will any ph.

i never said that any powerhead wouldnt...chill out. but, the koralia oxygenates water and while doing that it gives needed oxygen to bacteria that you should have in your tank, and helps circulation.

In SW, the O2 exchange is achieved by surface ripple. So if your ph is making waves you are getting your oxygen exchange.

Remember, this is an internet forum, and it is hard to tell tones just by reading words. Some things do come off harsh or in a demeaning manner, but the same applies for the opposite. We watch threads and remove or edit posts that are counter productive to the OP or the site as a whole, in order to keep it a family friendly site.

Ok to sum up the topic I think that if a tub of RO/DI water is kept with a heater and powerhead at 80degrees or so. You could take that water put it in a seperate container with heater and powerhead mix your salt in and the water can be ready to use in 8 hours. Only during drastic times. I also believe I can mix my saltwater 2-3 weeks in advance and still use it with no ill affect. This concludes my thoughts on Mixing Saltwater
