Red vines

Hey,
I noticed that there were some sort of red/maroon branching red vines that came along with one of my snails. The vines seem to be growing slowly and i just wanted to know what it was and if it is benificial or not. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated...tHANKS!

I dont' seem to have a cameria at this time...but if it helps it looks just like the branches on a tree except that the ones i have are about an inch 1/2 long and seem to be growing slowly on the bottom of the empty snail shell.
