I just ordered 2 more emeralds for my 90 gallon reef to take care of a small bubble algae problem. I love them!

I have several of them and they don't touch the green bubble algae. Had a breakout of it a few summers ago when my chiller went out and my MH bulbs were failing. Hate the stuff. Got the emeralds and they are very cool, but as eaters of the bubble algae, not so much.

Mine have already taken care of the bubble algae in a few days. They are so entertaining too!

Glad everything worked out. I guess it all depends on the crabs personality, LOL.

Are there different types of bubble algae? If so, do you think that Emerald Crabs only eat a certain kind?

Thanks for posting!

Here is a photo of the Emerald out for feeding!

Does he have a feather duster on him?

I know a few of mine do- it almost looks similar to their feathers
