I have hermits and snails in my tank and my heits have never eaten any snails. They have been together for almost 2 years. Im not saying they dont eat snails, ive just never had a problem with it.

Interesting...may have to try after all lol. Think I will try that first and then if all is good go from there.
 
If you want hermits i would reccommend blue leg and Halloween, they are colorful and grow slowly so it isn't too much trouble having extra shells for them. I'd stay away from thin stripe, they grow like crazy.
 
I just got an order from them this week. 100 small blue leg hemits and 3 emerald crabs. Ended up getting 130 hermits and 4 emeralds. They have some nice algae eating nudibranches right now
 
Whatever you do stay away from Astreas. They always fall off and land upside down, then can't right themselves. I am always having to turn those things back over. Very annoying.
