Refractometer and Salinity Levels

My wonderful girl friend got me a potable refractometer for my b-day and I was wondering what salinty level I should be looking for when using it. I have a reef tank and have heard there is a big difference between hydrometer readings and salinity readings. What salinity level is optimum for a reef tank when using a refractometer?

I keep mine at 1.025. If you do not have corals you can go to around 1.019 safely.
