Refugium CUC question...

I'm completely new to the concept of sumps and refugiums. I just added 3 margarita snails today and 5 hermits. Also two crabs hitchhiker crabs from the DT. It got a bit if rubble rick and crushed coral as the substrate. I'm planning to breed amphipods and such as food for the fish. Also have a bunch of macro algae to help with killing nitrates. Will the hermits eat up all my macro algae? Do any of you guys keep a CUC in the fuge? If so, what? Any suggestions of what else I should have in there?

The only thing I keep in my fuge is macro algae, rubble, and a predatory whelk I got as a hitch hiker. There's really no need for a CUC in a fuge.
