Hello,

I've recently scored a used large CPR Aquafuge with skimmer. Perfect fit on the back of my 36G bow front. With a Rio+ 600 the skimmer is working well and moving just the right amount of water. I put in 5" of sand, some live rock rubble and some chaeto so far. I've been reading more about DSBs and may have used the wrong kind of sand - just regular medium grain aragonite. So that may get tweaked.
But another thing I've been reading about is the seeding of a DSB. Various places sell starter kits - but I'm always suspicious of someone else's water. If I get a container of refugium seeding goodness, what potentially unwanted baddies may come along with it? Like ich or other fish parasites? Are these kits cultured in fishless systems? Any place more trusted than others?
