Regal Tang HLLD

i have had a regal tang now for about 6 months now hes a in a tank thats much to small, i got him when he was young and hes gettin big. I want to trade him to my LFS, but he's got HLLE. I have started to work on that and it looks like its starten to reverse itself, i was wonderin how well it can be reversed. Water quality i usually 8.3, ph, nitrite and ammonia 0, and nitratre at 0-5 ppm. Thanx for any advice.

Depends on how bad it got...if he was pitted pretty bad, you can expect some scarring, if it was a fresh case they sometimes recover completely.

I don't think anyone knows for sure. My best FS has a huge regal with HLLE. It was given to him and is now in a 350 gallon tank in the store. He says he can reverse it, but it looks really bad to me. Just feed it some good algae, and plenty of vitamins. Good luck

25 years in the hobby and I have never been able to reverse HLLE disease. Tried everything from 10% water changes everyday for 10 days, wait 10 days & start over again. Heavy seaweed feedings, absorbic acid supplement, garlic supplement, UV, ozone, grounding probes, Hexamita medication. Let me know the secret!

Good water quality and foods high in [acronym="Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acid"]HUFA[/acronym], usually soaked in a good vitamin and [acronym="Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acid"]HUFA[/acronym] supplament, like selcon.
