Short but sweet story.

Had freshwater for the longest time used tap water never have had a problem if i used the right chemicals.

I am now into salt water and i am catching up on the do's and dont's of salt and learning as much as possible before i get to deep into it. I currently have 2 55 gallon tanks running with just starter fish right now and wanting to get more of course later on. I have been recently told that if i use tap water eventually by doing water changes over time that the chemicals in the water from the tap will kill my whole tank. I was told by getting a reverse osmosis system that this will solve my problem and i can prevent this from happening to my tanks. If this is right what type and size should i use for my tanks?

Any ideas, thoughts, or comments are very much appreciated

Thank You for helping my :fish2:'s Stay healthy!

It doesn't usually kill your whole tank. It usually does cause massive algae problems though. With saltwater... RO or even RO/DI is not optional. I wouldn't consider using anything else.
