Ricordea Polyps hard to keep?

They do better in shaded areas. I found that out after I placed mine in the direct light of the MH then decdied to do more research.
 
Actually they love light, they just need to be properly acclimated to it. They will fluorish in an MH tank.

Good rule of thumb is always place new corals on the substrate for the first week and then every few days increase the height a few inches until the desired loaction is reached. It will take a few weeks in some cases but this will allow the coral to adapt slowly rather than impacted by light shock.

I have a few ricordeas in my 125gal with MH and they are doing awesome on the sandbed and havent had to move them at all. HTH
