I just purchased/installed my 6 stage RO/DI from filtersdirect. I decided to test the water to see how it panned out vers the tap water before I started dumping it into my tank and doing water changes. Everything looked good (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate) But this is what I'm afraid of. The hardness, and alkalinity are 0 8O and the ph is 6.2 or even less :? . Is this bad will this cause problems?

Sorry for the long post but I need help. I have been using tap water for years and never had a problem save for phosphates at .5-1.

It would have to have some effect on my tank, wouldn't it?

Well when u add ur salt to the water the pH and hardness should rise. It doesn't seem like u have bad water. HTH

Your numbers should be very low. You have pure water. Alk, pH, etc. aren't there, and neither is anything else, until you add your salt.

That's the whole point behind RO water. You start with pure stuff.
