ro question

oki think i got this figured out..i have it hooked up to my laundry room outlet...now i have one hose going to the drain and one to the 10 gallon bucket....i turned in the faucet and its beginning to put water in the bucket..(this is my first time turning it on, and the water first came out black but quicly cleared)..now my question is that all that water is goin down the drain(waste)...is that normal?? fo every gallon it seems like its wsting 2-3 is this correct???/

yes - that is correct! most of the water going into the ro unit comes right back out as 'waste' water

if you can, route that waste water to the tub of your washer for doing laundry or store it for watering plants, pets, the garden, etc.

there's nothing wrong with the waste water and it's been through carbon filtration already as well - it just didn't have time to percilate through the ro membrane.

I don't worry about waste water too much, I think my water is something like $3 per 1,000 gallons.
