Hi.
I am building a IM Fusion 40.
(Waiting on a stand).

Original plan was to build a lps dominate, but now thinking of using the top couple of rock "branches" for a couple of sps after everyone is stable.

Lightly mixed reef if you will.

I want to keep it very simple so I am going TRY, and only go with a hand full of corals, not so cluttered.

This has been a slower build than I wanted, but I am being very patient to get all the equipment in place before this gets wet (lessons learned)....hopefully next week.

Opinions / criticisms much appreciated on this on, as I am asking more advice this go around.
Thanks-

ChefJPaul?

Thanks.
Took a long time to build it into any kind of a flow pattern and keep it stable.

Any ideas on what you're looking to stock in terms of fish and specific corals?

Keep us updated on your progress!

That's quite the impressive rocksmanship :). Definitely interested to see how this turns out, lots of potential!

For fish I haven't totally decided.

Would like a clam or two after established.

Corals, I am thinking;
top branches- a couple acros in center and right a purple monti on top left.

Bottom shelf off to left, maybe ricodea or chalice.

Ive been looking at a dry tank to long and change my mind like every day. Ha!

Not a lot of space in this display.

Ill do a full build on this thread when the Stand gets here.

That rockwork is incredible! Exactly what I had wanted to do for my 90 gallon, but sadly, I gave up and just stacked a bunch of rocks :p
Wanna come build me a sweet scape? Lol

Ha ha!
Thanks.
Of course I would! You in NYC?
Took me a month to build it.

*Marco rock, (acid dipped) acrylic rods, water epoxy, super glue gel & zip ties.

I originally had the Nuvo 30, but it came in cracked, and they discontinued them. So they upgraded me to the 40 after 2 months. All summer empty tank:(

The rock structure was not that big at first, but by not having my tank I kept adding to it.. Fortunately I ran out of dry rock. Ended up larger then intended.

Stand finally here.
Rest of equipment should be here Friday.
Ghost skimmer
2- RW 4's
2- Custom media baskets
BRS - GFO & Carbon
Media Bags, floss, Etc...
Wire Duct - for cabinet.

Except controller. (Haven't decided yet on what to go with, maybe new Archon when its out)?

I have not cycled a brand new system / tank with only dry rock, so this should be a while Im guessing. :(

Hopefully Saturday night Ill start making RO/DI water to get this baby wet.

I have to use Ammonia, wifey wont have the raw shrimp this go around.

Couldn't wait!

Skimmer, heater, reactor, ATO all in.

Media baskets & the RW4's should be here in the next couple days.

I have a couple old wp10's to get going though.

Still need a controller.

Tidy up some more wires and ammonia time.

Looking good! I still can't get over that rock work.

You're kinda starting to make me want to start my build a little early! ;)

Thanks!

Wet!
