SO, I am looking to set up a beautiful rock structure.

This is what I am working with:

29G tank.
standard rectangular tank
30 pounds of rock
2 clownfish
1 mini tang
1 mandarin

So any one out there willing to share THEIR BEAUTIFUL rockscape with me! (y)

I was gonna post I picture but I had to comment, you can't keep a tang, no matter how small in a 29g tank. you are looking for trouble I promise. And the mandarin too isn't a good fish for a starting out tank.

But here are some pictures of my 29g and my cube and my 20g too.

You guys I love all of your rockscaping! all of these look beautiful :) I hope to have mine look as good as you pictures up here!

Carey: Why is it bad to have a a tang in a 29G tank? I mean I am only getting a .5' tang so it will be pretty small. I mean I understand about the whole "gotta have at least 75G tank" but... I really want one :( ....?

and how come mandarins are bad starters?

Most Mandarins, unless trained, will only eat copepods. You need around 50-60lbs of LR that has had a chance to mature for about a year to build a healthy population of pods for it to eat.

As for the Tang, they need the swimming room to develop properly, even as juveniles.

65 gallon done two ways 100+ lbs of live rock

These look great you guys! There is not a single one in here I dont like. I promise you guys that I will post up my aquarium when its ready! which will be by black friday because that is when my tank will be full cycled! hopefully sooner...

Carey! I was wondering what do you carey in your 29G tank? item wise.

Like:

what kinda PH do you carry?

what kind light?

what kind of protein skimmer?

it looks like you carry the AC 110? or 70?

I only have the biocube 29g right now. Some of the pictures I posted were a bit older but I wanted you to see what I did in my old 29g straight tank.

When I did have her up and running though the ph was at 8.3, I used an odyssea 4 bulb fixture for lights and I added a remora hang on back skimmer after a while. I was running an AC50 as well with good results. I managed to get to 0 nitrates after awhile too so it can be done.

I currently have a 20g tank setup as well, mostly corals. i do not have a skimmer for that one either and it is running an ac50 for filtration. I just added a 4 bulb fishneedit.com light fixture.

:-D

I still have my concerns about putting a tang in that tank, I haven't forgotten. LOL Isn't there another fish you can get that will make you happy that will be HAPPY in a 29g tank?
