Since I found out about my cancer I haven't done much , had a maintenance guy helping out till I fired him ,
any way keep a eye out next week I made a huge order on corals for both my tanks
over 35 pieces sps , soft coral ,and zoa's
wonder how many freebies they'll throw in

he was telling me about placement of all the corals
and what they require light wise
we talked well over a hour and came up with these 3 frag packs
10pc SPS Pack , 5pc Softie Pack , 20pc Zoa Pack
these will be split between 2 tanks
can't wait till thurs

sat I went out to get fish food came home with a few corals not many since I have a big order coming on thurs

first is my finger leather my maroon clown planted it here he even put the sand over the mounting tile

I was told these were red people eaters but after researching I found them to be magicians palys

I have kemo tomorrow and weds and my corals come thurs so I hope I'm feeling good so I can get some scaping done

got my coral order today floated till they came to temp than I dripped acclimated as I put plugs or rubble on frags

Once everything gets used to lighting start placing them in both tanks
major face lift in the 37g bow front I'll add more once I start the reconstruction
and touch up in 40b the bad part I plan to order more I'm a junkie
I ordered it raw not plugged got better price on the lot yes it was shorted a few but that will be taken into account next month on that order

Your Helio looks awesome! My Dragon Goby has been dumping crushed coral all over mine and I've been scrambling to find a good spot for it. Right now I've got him up on a flat piece that I've covered with sand, its seems to being doing better. Your other frags look good too!

Well I got everything placed but it's hard to believe it hardly put a dent in the 2 tanks
the 37 still needs more in center for sure
40b is starting to take shape

If you go with a community tank, I have a fish suggestion. I just got a red chromis this last week. It's beautiful. I had never seen one before, only the blue and green ones. Here's a pic:

Mine's only about 1/2" right now, but LA says they get 3" max. Very colorful fish!

coming on day 5 of cycle
ammonia is already dropping fast
went from 4.0 PPM to 2.0 PPM
it's getting there a little faster than I thought it would
can't wait to get my cuc going

also there are other critters
shrimp ,serpent and brittle stars, bristle worms ect

anyway haven't updated in a while due to my health so here's a more recent pict

I lost my 37g bow front TOTM tank rock crashed through bottom yes depression set in big time

don't understand this coral looked full and alive yesterday now its gone
all levels look good only thing I can think of my temp droped down to 76 my heater died
already put in a new one and slowly bringing it back up
could low temp kill it , nothing else seems to be efected
or maybe the urchin seems he's been hanging around there a while

When I lost power the temp drop screwed my acros. It didn't kill all tissue on some though. Keep things pristine and pray.

How do you use the egg crate?

Egg crate is a plastic light defuser you can buy at home depot for around $15

you can cut it with a pair of sharp wire cutters sizzors just shatter the plastic

heres a pict of it on the bottom before the sand

also the top it can be done 2 ways with a glass lid the rubber hing was glued to the egg crate or with the egg crate cut out and strapped on with zip ties

This is how to cut it with out it shattering all over

you can also use it for dividers in your tank or coral racks when acclimating your new corals

sorry didn't have a pict of the divider that can be either silicone in or it can be cut to be a tight fit and wedged into place only thing is sometimes they come loose
