Saddle Puffer

I am looking for some advise on the Saddle Puffer. I've always wanted a porcupine puffer, but I'm not ready to keep a bigger tank to house it in. I'll be setting up a 55G tank in the near future, and was looking into this fish instead. I'm assuming that this will restrict me from having any hermit crabs, does the same go for snails or will they only go after smaller ones? Also will they nip at all coral or is there a specific type that they'll eat. I realize some will depend on the fish itself, just curious what everyone can tell me from their experiences with this fish.
