SAKRETE Sand??

Has anyone heard of this kind of sand? It's put out by a NC company called Bonsal. I can't find out if it is silica or agronite. It's sold at Home Depot.

You can use the vineger test to find out if its silica based or not.

I think it's nearly all silica. It may have some feldspar and other minerals. It is used to mix with cement to make concrete so purity isn't a prority. If you want pure silica sand, get the kind used for sandblasting. It is more uniform in size but is more likely to be pure silica. Ask for it at a lumber yard or other home improvement store (other then HD).
