sand

just reading aabout tropical play sand as another option to ls and wondering if the sand they use for pool filters has been used its very white and very cheap and alot easier to find than the other sand has any one used it is it silica based

I can confirm that pool filter sand is silica. Not aragnite (sp?) sand at all. Would defeat the purpose if it was.
