Anyone have one in a nano or reef tank under 40 gallons how much open sand do they need

I've heard they do not last long in home aquariums unless verryy large

I have heard that they eat the good stuff you need to have in your sand bed

They aren't a very good choice for a home aquarium. Are you interested in having a starfish or something to turn the sand in your tank?

I have a sand sifting star have not had it very long just wondered what other people thought about them

ive had mine about 2 weeks dont seem him most of the time sometimes at night i will catch him out going over the sandbed

They dont last long in the home aquarium. For them they need a very large tank. They consume the fauna in the sand bed till it`s gone and usually starve to death once it is gone.
