I have a 4 stripped damsel in my tank.
I have a little bit of cyano left over from my cycle (it is about the size of 2 quarters not, it's not spreading and it is receding the water is perfect in the tank)

either way I noticed the day before yesterday the cyano looked like something had eaten maybe 1/4 of it, just a big spot out of the middle. Last night while I was looking at my tank guess what I saw....... I saw a 4 stripe damsel eat some cyano bacteria. I really didn't think it was normal either so I just sat there and watched for a second..... he did it again and again and again it had little marks everywhere. He was eating it.

I just thought that was really odd and wanted to share.

Can you breed those damsels? The truth is fish will try anything they think looks appetizing. I once caught a fish (florida gar) on a rag with no hook.

My angel would do the same thing... I think he was just plucking at whatever might've been mixed in or under it -- not actually interested in the bacteria.

I watched him do it again last night............. that is a totally weird fish.
