Seachem Purigen Question

I have 6 bags of purigen I had soaking in Ro water in the basement and forgot they were down there. It's been a month since I used them. think they are any good or should I get new ones. It's been in that same R/O water for a month. think I could just rinse well and use them or throw them out?

I bleach mine for 12hours then let them sit in RO for 8 hours. Then I rinse them of real good and put them back in the tank. The directions on how to recharge them came with the bag/bottle depending on what you bought.

So just give them a good rinse and use them? should I soak them in bleach again just to make sure they are ok. They were soaking in a bucket for a month in just water.

If it was "spent" before you put it in the RO water it will still need to be rejuvenated with bleach.

No I bleached it for 24 hours then dropped it in a bucket with r/o water and Seachem prime for a month lol. It has a slight sulfur smell to it now after rinsing.

I would bleach it again. Can't hurt and it will kill anything nasty that might have grown while in storage. Rinse real well and use a anti-chlorine that doesn't have anything else in it, like slime coat protectors. It can coat the Purigen and make it useless. I just rinse mine really, really well.
