Shrimp

I have searched in the ID forum for various shrimp ID's and/or pictures.

I got my rock from LR.com and I have recently been watching a hitchhiker shrimp that is @2-3 inches long...

He is a lighter brown/tan in color and seems to have 2 small claws that are held out in front. Sort of like the smaller claws of a CBS.

I wish I could provide a picture, but I have yet to take any in which it can easily be seen.

Any links of pictures ? i have tried wetwebmedia with no success.

If one claw is larger than the other, it would most likely be a pistol shrimp. If the same sized claws, it could be a Stomatopod. Do not try to determine species by color, rather use physical characteristics to narrow down the family and then go from there.
