shrimps

ok so i have a cleaner shrimp in my tank. i have had him for about 3 weeks now. he has molted 2x since i have gotton him. do they molt this much or is it that he is just growing vary fast?

It could simpley be growth but also be wary of any additions of iodine and other trace elements. Moulting too often can also be a sign of excesses in the water which the animal will shed in order to rid itself of these impurities. What the shrimp needs will be primarily absorbed through foods and not the water so be careful and always test for anything added.

If there are no trace element additions, I would chalk it up to good healthy growth providing all your other parameters are up to par.

ya i have not been adding any thing to the water other then a weekly waterr change. i know not to add any thing unless i can test for it. ya every thing is at 0 but ph is at 8.3 and sg is at 1.023 and temp at 79.9 oh and po4 are at like .2

A 46 gal bow front (Soft coral) reef tank with a 10 gal sump. And a 30 gal (SPS and Clam) reef tank hooked up to the sump of the 46 so they share water.
