Silencing overflow

I have a 200 gph nano over flow that i just setup and am trying to get rid of the gurgling noise. I currently have a short stub of pipe with foam around the top which is what the overflow comes with and it helps but isnt great. I dont have room to fit a durso stand pipe or another bulkhead. Any ideas?

try putting some air hose down the pipe

I put an O ring on mine it helps the water cascade over the edge instead of crashing and gurgling.
