Silver or White Egg Crate?

Would there be any advantages to using silver egg crate as oppose to the standard white for covering the aquarium top?

Homedepot only carried white crating, but I saw both silver and white at Lowe's. The silver was chrome-like.

Check and make sure that the silver can't "flake off". If the silver coating is scratched or otherwise damaged you might find bits of it floating around in your tank.

I'd go with the silver. Light will reflect off of it more into your tank. The white eggcrate that i used made my tank too dark.

I'll check to see if it can flake... I think the silver looks better...

id' go with the white, cuz i'm sure, eventually, the silver will flake off.
