Hi,

I use a medium side tube that I purchased at Home Depot, I brought about ten feet which is connect to my sink which is near by. Also I have a
small pump on the other end which pumps the water out of my tank and into the sink via the ten foot tube. Everything cost me under $20.00.

Good Luck!

I stick my siphon hose next to the powerhead and let it start the siphon.. Works Awesome Very cheap and Effective.. drain it into a 5gal bucket and do it again.. I usually change 10-15gals at a time so its a few trips.. One of these days I am going to get a long enough hose to reach out my patio door and drain it into the grass then use the hose to pump prepared SW back into the tank.. Still have better things to spend money on though.. lol

HTH,
James

Just submerge all of the tube in the tank and make sure there is no air in it. Then cap one end with your thumb and take that end out of the tank and over the lip. Take your thumb off and the syphon will start up right away.
