Skimmer Question

I have a Aqua-C Urchin Pro and twice this has happened, Not changing any of the skimmer parameters, it seems that everything is fine, producing sludge in the cup for months, then every once in a while I notice the sump surface water is bubbly like the Ocean, and the bubbles are rising much more rapidly into the cup and overflowing the cup with clear water??? Any clue why this might be happening??? Has this ever happened to anyone else??

No, I dose Kalk and add Reef Vital, that's it.

Anything you add to the tank may cause a skimmer to act up for awhile. That can include fatty foods, additives, and even your hands may trigger it. What happens is that the surface tension of the water is temporarily affected and the skimmer will go nuts until the water returns to normal (usually a few hours). HTH, Skip
